چکیده

Introduction Dobutamine stress studies after acute ST or Non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI, NSTEMI, AMI) have prognostic implications for future cardiovascular events and therefore have an impact on the indicated therapy by identifying high-risk patients. Dobutamine side effects early after AMI have been extensively reported. Namely malignant arrhythmias are feared, since mostly the initiated beta blocker therapy was interrupted for stress studies to achieve the required submaximal heart rate increase.

Prediction of regional functional recovery after acute myocardial infarction with low dose dobutamine stress cine MR imaging and contrast enhanced MR imaging.

PURPOSE Previous studies demonstrated that low-dose dobutamine stress cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and delayed contrast-enhanced MRI can provide assessments of myocardial viability. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the comparative diagnostic values of dobutamine cine MRI and delayed contrast-enhanced MRI for predicting functional recovery of myocardial contraction in patients ...

Contrast enhanced and functional magnetic resonance imaging for the detection of viable myocardium after infarction.

PURPOSE Viable myocardium after acute myocardial infarction may be characterized by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) either by demonstration of recovery of wall motion under dobutamine stress or by perfusion patterns after contrast medium administration. This study examines the relation between the two techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS Gradient-echo MRI at rest and under low-dose dobutamine s...

CARDIOVASCULAR MEDICINE Myocardial viability assessed by dobutamine stress echocardiography predicts reduced mortality early after acute myocardial infarction: determining the risk of events after myocardial infarction (DREAM) study

Objective: To establish further the role of dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) in prognostication of outcome early after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) Methods: Consecutive patients presenting with AMI were screened for inclusion into the study. 212 stable consenting patients underwent DSE a mean (SD) of 4.8 (1.5) days after AMI. Patients were then followed up for 803 (297) days. Resul...

Prognostic value of myocardial viability in medically treated patients with global left ventricular dysfunction early after an acute uncomplicated myocardial infarction: a dobutamine stress echocardiographic study.

BACKGROUND Residual viable myocardium identified by dobutamine stress after myocardial infarction may act as an unstable substrate for further events such as subsequent angina and reinfarction. However, in patients with severe global left ventricular dysfunction, viability might be protective rather than detrimental. The aim of this study was to assess the impact on survival of echocardiographi...
